These terms govern your use of the CodeMonsters iOS app and the codemonsters.app website (together, the "service"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.
CodeMonsters is operated as a sole trader in England and Wales. Contact: support@codemonsters.app.
CodeMonsters lets you scan real-world barcodes to generate AI-created monster collectibles, build a collection, and battle other players. Game content, balance, and features may change over time.
You must be at least 13 years old to use CodeMonsters. If you are under 18, you may only use the service with permission from a parent or guardian. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for activity that occurs under your account. Please report suspected unauthorised access to support@codemonsters.app.
The app offers optional in-app purchases (for example, Beast Energy, boosts, and inventory upgrades). All purchases are processed by Apple under the App Store's standard terms. Virtual items have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are non-transferable. Once a virtual item has been delivered or consumed it is generally non-refundable, except where required by law. Refund requests are handled by Apple — see support.apple.com.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.
Monster names, artwork, stats, and characteristics are generated by AI based on the barcodes you scan. Generated content is provided "as is". We do not warrant that any particular monster will be unique, original, free of resemblance to existing works, or available indefinitely. Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-commercial licence to view and use the monsters in your collection within the service. We retain all rights in the underlying app, generation system, and game content.
You retain ownership of any content you submit (such as your username). By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and use it as needed to operate the service. We may remove content that we reasonably believe breaches these terms.
The app requests camera access to scan barcodes. The camera is used solely for barcode decoding on your device. We do not capture, store, or transmit photos or video.
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Features may be added, changed, or removed, and the service may be suspended for maintenance, security, or technical reasons.
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. On termination, any unused virtual items are forfeited.
If you obtained the app through the Apple App Store, the following also applies:
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. This does not affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under English law. Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us through in-app purchases in the 6 months preceding the claim, or (b) £50.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you by email or in-app notice of material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that point constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes, except that consumers resident in another part of the UK may bring proceedings in their local courts.
